Proof of Bush lying to Americans in leadup to Iraq War

Saturday, April 28th, 2007

Senator Dick Durbin is on the Intelligence Committee.  He was personally briefed on what the intelligence community knew about Iraq prior to the war.  He then would listen to what the White House was saying to the American people after the briefings.  Durbin was sworn to secrecy about the intelligence briefings so he was not able to talk about it…until now.  Story is here

Cable news is not for news anymore

This from Ashleigh Banfield…fired reporeter from MSNBC

I’m a journalist and I like to be able to tell the story as I see it, and I hate it when someone tells me I’m one-sided. It’s the worst I can hear. Fox has taken so many viewers away from CNN and MSNBC because of their agenda and because of their targeting the market of cable news viewership, that I’m afraid there’s not a really big place in cable for news. Cable is for entertainment, as it’s turning out, but not news.

Rudy Giuliani

Saturday, April 28th, 2007

Keith Olbermann asks a great question of how the people that were leading us on 9/11 have been completely absolved of any responsibility for the horrible day…and actually made it worse…and now they have the gall to say that the opposing leadership would make things worse for America?  And as for Rudy Giuliani…the World Trade Center was attacked in 1993.  Where did Giuliani put his Emergency Services Headquarters after 1993??  In the WTC.  Even after terrorists said they would bomb the WTC again.  Rudy Giuliani was walking around in the rubble of the WTC immediately because THAT was his office that was attacked.  EVERYONE said the Emergency control center should have been placed underground in Brooklyn but Rudy’s decision went against their suggestions.  So here in 2007 where is the Emergency Service office?  It is located underground in Brooklyn.  Do we really want that kind of fuzzy thinking to lead our nation and the world…again?   Olbermann comments here

Bill Moyers is back and strong as ever!

Thursday, April 26th, 2007

Four years ago on May 1, President Bush landed on the aircraft carrier USS Lincoln wearing a flight suit and delivered a speech in front of a giant “Mission Accomplished” banner. He was hailed by media stars as a “breathtaking” example of presidential leadership in toppling Saddam Hussein. Despite profound questions over the failure to locate weapons of mass destruction and the increasing violence in Baghdad, many in the press confirmed the White House’s claim that the war was won. MSNBC’s Chris Matthews declared, “We’re all neo-cons now;” NPR’s Bob Edwards said, “The war in Iraq is essentially over;” and Fortune magazine’s Jeff Birnbaum said, “It is amazing how thorough the victory in Iraq really was in the broadest context.”  Watch video here

We are protected from nothing because those that protect us don’t know how to effectively protect us from something

Sunday, April 22nd, 2007

If the people that are given the responsibility of protecting us from terrorists really have no clue as to what they are doing then how are they not doing us a disservice by protecting us from things that don’t mean anything?  If this action against this young man was nothing more than an exercize in warning terrorists that we are watching EVERYONE…then does’t this tell the terrorists that they just won the war because people here have become overly paranoid and our society has been changed as a result of the terrorist’s actions.  Every time this happens this only goes to show that we have already lost the war on terrorism.  Story is here

Are there paper boys anymore?

Sunday, April 8th, 2007

It seems the paper boy has been replaced by the RSS feed. I wonder if the dropping PAPER content of newspapers has been offset by the computer distribution model.  Story is here

Rush Limbaugh – Facilitator of lies for the administration

Sunday, April 8th, 2007

This past week Vice President Cheney went on Rush Limbaugh’s radio show and one of his big lines was the regurgitation of Iraq being associate with Al Qaeda .  Un-be-lieveable!!!  How many times does this have to be discredited before people understand that BOTH groups were run by megalomaniacs that would not allow another megalomaniac have any power in the direction their group would go.  Saddam would not allow it because his society was only held together by his dictatorial strongarm leadership…without it the different religious and ethnic groups would have formed their own nations.  An as for Al Qaeda ditto.  Speaking of ditto…read this explanation of what was known to be going on and focus on the last line which has Cheney contradict the Intelligence community of the US which said Saddam and Al Qaeda had nothing to do with one another but Cheney told Rush Limbaugh a completely different story.  Story is here  More of the same stuff is located here
